How about everyone with AIDS has to get a permanent tattoo on a specific spot say around the waist? This way you can tell if they have aids. It wouldnt completly stop the spread but maybe slow it down.

First of all, NO ONE spreads AIDS. People spread HIV, which in most cases develops into AIDS later on.
Secondly, I agree with the person who said it's like when Hitler made Jewish people wear the star of David on their clothing.
And, tattoos carry risks themselves. A person can contract different viruses or bacteria from getting a tattoo, like hepatitis, HIV, staph infection and others. The ingredients in tattoo ink are NOT FDA approved. Who knows what's in it!
I think a more realistic and better idea would to not have sex with someone unless you know their STD status. Make a day of it and go and get tested together. People have a tendency to just jump in bed with someone before they really know them or their sexual background. It's easier to deal with things up front, then dealing with an incurable STD that could have been preventing by getting tested in the first place.

sounds like a good idea and all, but you can't make people brand themselves just because of a theory. And anyway, half of the problem of the spread of aids is that people don't know they have it. So you wouldnt know half of the people to tattoo. I think the spread of aids has surpassed the tattoo. But nice thoughts.

Nothing will ever stop the spread of Aids. The people who have Aids wont tell if they have Aids/ HIV to there girl friend or boy friend unless they are honest and promas they will were protection.

No bad idea most people that are HIV positive do not know that they are positive. When you have AIDS you are all ready dying and every one can see it ............sores, painfully thin etc. Come to africa and come and check the dying out.

that's an invasion of privacy...not to mention cruel. Imagine how hard it would be for them to function in daily life with an hiv brand. Alot of times they didn't do anything wrong ...they were born with hiv or raped
