I would not hesitate to recommend Avanti at 2728 East Thomas Road, they have wonderful food, private dining and a piano lounge. Omaho Steak House 2630 East Camelback Road, is another fine restaurant and while these restaurants aren't cheap, they are a little less expensive than the very "in" spots of the moment.

If you like Chinese, the Golden Buddha has a small banquet area/room you can reserve that will easily handle a party of 30. It's fairly respectable food-wise and is centrally located (44th St. between Washington & Loop 202).
