A few weeks ago, I came down with a stuffy nose and cold. ( I ALWAYS get stuffy noses, I don't know why). So a week ago my mom gave me nasal spray that I can use, and I've been using it for three weeks everyday. About a week later, I came down with a really sore throat. I looked at the label on the nasal spray today, and it said, "Do not use for more than three days or congestion will get worse", so I think I'm in deep water now.

I think my sore throat is somehow linked to my stuffed up nose. How can I get rid of it to get my throat better, and should I stop using the nasal spray?

Try steam inhalation, lozenges, warm salt water gargles, viral illnesess may last many days but if you get any worse at this point make sure to see a health care provider.

I was just now going to ask a similar question. Then I saw this post. There is a warning on the label of the non- saline sprays about not getting it down your throat. I too have been getting sore throats. Today is the worst. It hurts allot and I can't sing, to boot (which I'm good at.). No more of the chemical types. I'm going back to the saline spray. It, coincidentally is the very stuff which cures sore throats !!! I believe your soreness is from the same thing, and is not a sore throat associated with colds and the flu. It's the nasal spray itself which is inflaming our vocal chords, which then resembles a true sore throat....I think acetaminophen tablets are indicated at this time for you, me and all experiencing this same thing while using certain nasal sprays.

Yes stop using the nasal spray. For the sore throat, gargel salt water. If it doesn't feel better in a few days, contact your doctor,

yes. stop using the nasal spray right away. i did the same exact thing and my congestion continued. i only use nasal spray now before i go to bed if i'm congested. just stop using it and your problems should clear up.

just gargle with warm salt water and stop using the spray. i have been using it for years and now i can't smell anything or taste hardly anything.

i have tried to quit but i can't breath at night and it keeps me up. so i end up using it.
