Palpatations are quite normal and we all have them at time to time !!! If your ecg's came back normal then i wouldn't worry about it too much.

The best thing you can do is go back to your Dr, This will alleviate worry which could worsen your symptoms. A friend of mine had an ECG and his was fine, 4 Month's later he had an operation and they performed an ECG before the op and it wasn't fine. So yes go back and get a second one done, this way it will put your mind at rest.
It could be something called premature ventricular contractions, basically your heart skips a beat and then resumes beating normally until a minute or so later,They are not dangerous and a Dr would probably prescribe Tinormin for this if it is a problem for you.
Here are some things that might help.
Have a routine physical with ECG and ECHO to eliminate abnormalities... MVP (mitral valve prolapse, while being a benign murmur can cause anxiety symptoms and pvcs) You already have this, this is why I mention it Hun,
Cut out caffeine completely
Get more rest
Get cardio in at least 3-5 days week
Practise controlled breathing, abnormal respiration can cause a flux in oxygen leading to pvcs
Get a second opinion about taking Tinormin or any other Beta Blocker. They are notorious for slowing your heart and dropping your blood pressure to dangerous levels if you don't need them. They also can make you gain weight since your metabolism slows down. Hope this helps.

I go through phases where my heart skips every 10 beats or so and this has been happening for about 12 years. It skips and then the following beat is noticably stronger as if to compensate! I've seen docs and been for an ecg. It even happened while I was having the ecg but I've been told by several doctors that it's really nothing to worry about and something that just happens to some people.
I know it's scary and you get a sort of sinking feeling in your stomach when it happens but I don't think you need worry too much. I find it happens to me more when I'm stressed.
As with anything - if you're worried, it's always worth going to the doctor, even if only for reassurance.

I was detected as having a heart murmur earlier this year. I had suffered from palpitations for quite a number of years and it was only when I went for a stress test and then an echocardioraph did it become clear that there was a problem.
Now, the cardiologist, whom I am seeing again next month, said there was no reason for concern although he did advise that I might require surgery but only if the condition deteriorated. Other than that if you look after yourself, i.e. drinking, eating, smoking (should cut it out if you smoke) and take regular exercise you should be okay.
But I would definitely see your doctor and get a cardiologist's opinion.
Hope this helps.

Has your doctor investigated the murmur ? if he has and he thinks is not serious i would not worry . i have a murmur to and on a daily basis my heart skips beats every 10 or so its a bit annoying and sometimes its made worse by you worrying about it ! if your doctor has done ecgs and they are normal i wouldnt worry . if you have any other symptoms like feeling faint and blackouts please go back but for now i wouldnt worry if your doctor isnt !
good luck

i have a heart murmur too and occasionally this happens with everyones hearts. i have raised this concern with my specialist and he wasnt worried in the slightest. particularly if your ECG is coming back fine.
however your heart is rather an important organ to say the least so to be on the safe side ring your GP and ask to speak to someone over the phone. that way you arent wasting anyones time with an appointment but if they think you need to get checked out they will do so.
good luck!

Hi, i too have a heart murmur which i have been told is fine and nothing needs to be done about it, but palpitations are a common side effect of a heart murmur i get them occasionally, they are not nice but also nothing to worry about. If you get them frequently or they start to affect your life then go and see a doctor for reassurance.

i also have a slight heart murmur and sometimes my heart skips a beat too and then seems to beat faster for a few mins till it catches back up, this usually happens when im lying in bed but has happened at other times too.
it used to worry me but i dont think about it much anymore when it happens i just try to relax, cos when i used to worry it used to take longer to get back to normal
if i was you i would not worry about it either, but if it really bothers you then go n see your GP, or see your GP if it happens too much or is painful
hope this helps u out a bit

Sometimes the heart does this. I wouldn't worry: it sounds like you're OK to me. It can happen if you've taken a stimulant, such as caffeine or some of the recreational drugs.
