This makes about 2/3 a cup:
1/4 cup instant minced onion
3 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons crushed red pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons oregano, crushed
I also like to put in a teaspoon of chipotle pepper in it as well. This adds some smoky heat. Not always the best for kids.

LOL!
Some of the answers on here are hilarious!
I personally think that, unless you have all of the many ingredients to make taco seasoning, then it would be easier (and much cheaper) just to go to the store and buy a package of seasoning :)
Make life easy!

Chili powder and cumin. Try looking up a recipe for it online. (The food network site is good for recipes.) I know my sister makes hers from scratch but I don't have her recipe.
