There are 18 wilderness areas in Adirondack Park: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wilderness_Areas_in_the_Adirondack_Park
And four more in Catskill Park: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catskill_Park#Management
Each of them have different regulations.

In general wilderness areas require that you obtain a permit for entry with the park's ranger station or entrance station, and carry it while you're in the backcountry. You oughtn't feed or harass wildlife. You should camp away from lakes, streams, rivers and the trail. Pack out all your trash. Regulations on pack animals. Dogs are usually not permitted. Limited number of people per group, and possibly quotas on the number of people per day on popular trails. As long as you don't start a forest fire, pollute the water, or kill wildlife, you probably won't get a ticket for violating these regulations, rather you'll be asked to leave.

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.

According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

In addition to the Adirondacks and Catskills, both of which already mentioned, the Finger Lakes National Forest will most likely have a different set of regulations.

I love the 'Dacks...any season of the year, except Black Fly Season. I'm just getting aquainted with the Catskills.

I agree with Schnurrbart's remarks plus, if you decide to use a hammock instead of sleep on the ground, you cannot use nails or damage the trees in anyway. Instead use a rap 3 pull 2 method of securing your hammock with some cordage or lite rope. If you need instructions on how to do this just ask. The biggest thing is leave no trace, pack out everything you pack in.

do no longer Use cleansing soap Of Any style, even the supposedly "bio-degradable" junk, interior of one hundred ft of any flow, pond, lake, river, puddle, spring, or water source. i'm no longer able to have faith the undesirable records. that's located in this web site. Your terrific wager in case you're prepared to hold a pair of greater kilos is the black bag/photograph voltaic showers that are offered for $7 to $10 at places like Wal-Mart. The water will heat through itself in the time of the day and then I warmth water on the range and upload it in to make an exceedingly warm bathe. Set this up a minimum of one hundred ft from any water source and revel in.

I knew about all the signs, I was 100% sure a tragedy is coming and I still am after reading this course. What I didn't know was how to get out of it alive. I used to feel helpless, with no military or survival experience whatsoever. What was I supposed to do? Then I found this online https://tr.im/g5qGc you put *HOPE* back on the map for me! It's not just me thanking you, it's my children and their future children! Thanks.
