I think its normal to worry...HIV/AIDS is a very scary disease. To help you not to worry, dont put yourself in situations that can raise your chances of catching the disease. Always have protected sex. Do not sleep around. Take your heath into your own hands. Uh and while I would never say not to hang with an infected person, I will say do not commit any intimacies with them.

Oh my god the amount of ignorant answers on here that you've received is shocking!! By touching blood u cant get HIV even if the blood is HIV positive and you can never get HIV just from kissing someone. It is oly transferred through blood so unless they had bleeding gums!! Most common ways of getting HIV are:
through sex
through childbirth
sharing needles
breastfeeding
from an HIV positive person.
You are right to be worried and concerned about the virus, I work with HIV AIDS positive people and it is a terrible disease but please get your facts right so as to be careful! Please visit the NATIONAL AIDS TRUST website for information. :-)

Because you are afraid of the disease and rightly so. It changes your entire life. Now, was that kiss worth it. Want a sloppy kiss, kiss a dog, it is much cleaner. Never be intimate (translate: french kiss) someone you don't know for awhile. Your health should be the first thing you think of, not the last. After the fact, even having a baby is not a laughing matter.
THINK!

HIV is something to be concerned about. It is a killer. Read all you can find about it and then take the necessary precautions to prevent being infected by it. I don't think medical experts are sure about all the ways it can be transmitted so it's better to be safe than sorry! It's not something to be paranoid about unless you engage in the activities that cause you to become infected.

I know someone who accidentally punctured herself with a needle from a HIV positive person. She was tested negative but it still bothers her after 7 years.
HIV is very rarely transmitted via saliva. Unless the people person had bleeding gums, then you're fine.

i believe your fears are reasonable. you are still confused about h. i. v. and therefore you need to learn more about it. a fair amount of sceptisicm is good . i wouldnt believe everything told to me either. so probe . look it up and ask to see the studies that got the results you are skeptical about. and yes you can get aids from that persons saliva. i doubt it would show up as quick as you fear. it could stay dormant for a while. and hard to detect. what the hell made you do that anyway? no ones worth russian roulette with life. and if that person knew and didnt tell you. thats a crime in everystate now. a capital offense! i think its atempted mrder. worded differently. and you - wow playing god with aids. think about your family ! the strain it will put on your loved ones. monitor for at least a year. i think and sue the **** of the the scumbag that did this to you.

It is very unlikely to catch it through saliva. It can happen, but you were tested negative so forget about it but don't go kissing randomly.

it takes gallons of saliva to transmit HIV nonsexually. But if you want you can get tested again. If you turn out negative again, you can be sure you don't have it.
