I am writing a paper and want to know what the public thinks. Could educating people about HIV/AIDS make a difference in the amount of people infected per year? And how many of you if educated about this disease would be more willing to get involved and donate time and money to help spreading education and finding a cure?

Education would definitely help lower the incidence of HIV/AIDS cases, but I don't think it would get rid of it completely for a long long looooong time. A lot of people don't know or refuse to believe they're at risk, and some people don't even know very much about the disease. If they were educated on how it is spread and what happens when a person has it, they might make better & safer decisions.

I am already educated about the disease, and if the opportunity came up for me to donate time to help educate people about HIV/AIDS, I definitely would. I think if more people were educated about the disease, they'd also be more willing to help and donate time/money toward research, education, and treatment of it. If they don't know what it is, how can they be convinced to help out, right?

Education is the ONLY cure for HIV right now. I dont know if a cure will ever be in the future but I believe that people with HIV will continue to live longer lives due to medications that are and will be available in the future. Its in the best interest that EVERYONE in the world do or try to do something to help in the fight against this deadly disease.

Education won't cure anything. AIDS is incurable. A person should become educated so that they will know what activities makes you vulnerable to AIDS; however, if you don't use all the precautions, the education was useless.

It's already made a huge difference! Abstinence is the only real way to keep from getting infected with HIV, but wearing a condom is a good way, too. (more realistic.)

So, yes, education is a cure for AIDS.
