i have been experiencing this feeling in my chest like i swallowed a huge pill and it won't go down then i start gasping for air and my hole chest starts to hurt. what could be causing this?

How long has this been occurring and are there any other symptoms (pain in your arm, fatigue, etc)? The best advice I can give is to see your doctor, or, if you are having the symptoms I described, get to the ER as quickly as possible (whether it be by ambulance or someone else driving, DO NOT drive yourself) and take an aspirin on the way (Bayer works well). If you are having no other symptoms, it could still be a heart attack, but it could also be something along the lines of asthma or even a panic attack (which sometimes feels like a heart attack). I hope this helps you and I hope the pain in your chest goes away...
