I 've been a vegan my whole life and couldn't imagine not living a cruelty-free lifestyle. I enjoy full meals in restaurants several times a week, and eat pasta, burritos, and pizza like there's no tomorrow. SOOO hard.... : )

No it's not. The beginning is an emotional and physical roller coast. You may be sad, you may miss foods you've given up, you may find yourself in situations where everyone around you is enjoyig all the foods you used to love, and you just want to scream! Then you take a moment to remind yourself that you are not them, and you no longer eat what they eat...and it's all for a damn good reason...which makes you a pretty freaking awesome person. Yay you!
Then the next day it happens all over again. The first 2 months will probably be the worst. You may feel icky, you may lose your appetite, you may become depressed, and some point in the first year you may try to go back to eating meat for various reasons. At that point you'll probably find it tastes disgusting, and is the last thing you want in your mouth. Then your resolve will be that much stronger, and things will get better.
Don't give up all the foods you used to eat and love, just have non-meat versions of them. Hot, crispy cheese pizza is just as good as meat pizza. A lot of the meat dishes we love, we like simply because of all the extras, not the meat itself. Meat on it's own is pretty bland. That's why we always covered it in ketchup and BBQ sauce and mayo and a million other creams and sauces.

If you think about it logically, not really. There are hundreds of non-meat foods and only about half a dozen types of meat foods. That's a lot of good stuff you can eat besides meat!

At first it can be a little hard resisting meat, after awhile though you stop wanting meat. That's what it's like with me anyway. I just plain don't want meat anymore.

Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it
Don't you make me repeat it
Have a banana, have a whole bunch
It doesn't matter what you had for lunch
Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it
Eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it
