Best thing to do is treat her the same as you've always have. She wants to be a friend no some one to petty. Try some of her snacks and eating times . The diabetic diet is really health for everyone. I'm sure your friend knows you care .
good luck

You are being a good friend. Talk to your friend and find out what she'd like to eat when she's visiting you. That way she can plan out a few snacks. And you can join her as a show of solidarity - have her teach you what she's allowing herself and do that whenever you are together.
The main things that diabetics have to limit is carbohydrates - so pizza and spaghetti as well as doughnuts and ice cream can be problems unless consumed in controlled amounts.
Snacks high in protein like cheese can be better, as can fresh veggies like carrots and celery and broccoli.
It doesn't bother me to see other people eating cakes and pies and ice cream. I just eat what I've planned and let them eat what they want.

It would be nice if you can find some sugar-free snacks for her in case she wants to munch on something.
It would be nicer to ask her what she would like. I am sure she would be happy that you are interested in her enough to find out what she can eat and drink. That is what friends do.
Then you can try to have some of the things she eats on hand for when she comes over.

You are a considerate friend.
Why not just ask her what would be a good snack ?
Popcorn is always a nice treat for most people.
No need for you to eat junk anyway.
I wish you the best.

I would ask her what she wants. I've been diabetic for over 20 years and I have to plan what I'm going to eat and take my insulin to match it. I can pretty much have anything you can have. Ask her it will help you both alot.

get a diabetic cookbook for when you have her over for dinner and keep things like crackers or popcorn they she can eat and most likely it doesn't bother her that you don't have allot of stuff she can eat most of my family is diabetic and they don't get all fussy when people don't keep diabetic snacks on hand
