I have the Minimed 522 and I have been on it only a month or so. I didn't really choose it, my diabetes educator chose for me. She is educated and trained on a few different ones and prefers this one most. Customer service has been great, though I have really had no real issues. I am sure I will stick with Medtronic products in the future.

I've been Type I for over 20 years now and pumping for 11. The first pump I had was a Minimed and stuck with them for 10 years. I now have the new Animas. I loved my Minimed but will be honest, after they merged the customer service went down and the supplies were made cheaper. Yeah, the cont. glucose option is awesome, but it is so new, my insurance doesn't cover the supplies. So I recently got the Animas. For one, when I was buying the Animas, they gave me $700 towards my purchase for my old Minimed. Minimed was only going to give me $500. Obviously money is an issue for me anyways. Bottom line, is they all do about the same thing to control your blood sugars. Its preference. When I first was going to Animas, I was hesitant because I had Minimed for so long. So far, I'm happy with my choice.

I have a minimed 522. I liked the options, including the ability to upgrade to the continuous glucose monitoring. The customer service is excellent. I will get another one when this one is done. (It is only about 13 months old, so at least 3 more years) I have never had any issues with this pump.

I use the Animas IR 1250. I had the IR 1000, but the warranty ran out and they no longer make it. So, I upgraded. Why I got one from Animas? The insurance I had when I first started pumping wouldn't pay for any other but Animas because they, at the time, were the cheapest out there.
As for customer service, I have had no problems with them, other than long waits at times when calling them. Tech support is right on top of things and they will send you a replacement meter if something happens with yours. My old meter (the IR 1000) had something go wrong with it once (while I was driving no less) and the alarm wouldn't shut off. So, I called Tech support. They had me do some things to see if it would stop, but it wouldn't, so they sent me a new meter--which had been improved from the really old one I had. Then when that ones' warranty ran out, I called and got the new one--and my current insurance paid for every cent of it! :)
Problems with my pump? Only with the old one that one time. I have been pumping for about six years or so and love it. I refuse to go back to shots. Having one needle prick in my abdomen once every three days is much better to me than having six to ten shots a day!

Minimed Paradigm 722.
My old one was a Minimed 508 (was finally retired this past September).
I love my pump and everything about it. I chose Minimed initially because at the time, it was the one my doctor recommended. When it came time to choose the new one, I stuck with Minimed because of their excellent customer service and help lines, the ease of use and my past familiarity with Minimed.
I chose the 722 because of it's capability for upgrading to the Continuous Glucose Monitoring (if I choose) and it's insulin capacity of 300 units of insulin (compared to the 150 units on the 522).

MiniMed Paradigm 515, but I'm looking to upgrade it pretty soon, since they've released one that does the continual blood glucose monitoring. Customer service with it has been fabulous, and I would definitely get another MiniMed.
The only problems I've had with it were the initial adjustment period, and my being silly and tightening the cap over the battery too tightly once. Customer service was great when I almost destroyed the cap trying to get it off, and sent me another one. They're also really good about doing trade ins - I traded in my original pump when they put out the ones with the wireless connected meters and had no problems with it.
Good luck! :)
