Today, I went for my first cardio workout (a run) in about a year. I used to ride bicycles competitively and was alwas in good shape.

Anyway, I have been having some issues with my lungs and the run made me think of asking a question on here:

Here is the history:

Male, 36yrs old, thin

1) I have been living on a boat for 2 years - a very moldy boat.
2) I had a chest x-ray 2 summers ago for a fall I took on the boat that may have caused injury. It didn't, but the doctor noticed I had fluid in my lungs and asked me if I had been coughing. I was completely unaware of the fluid. He said I had "walking pnemonia (sp)"
3) Over the years on the boat, I would become short of breath at times, get headaches and get dizzy if I had a particularly bad mold day. I also noticed that doing little things like lifing up a small boat caused a burning in my lungs similar to what you would get if you were running too hard.

QUESTION: Any ideas what's wrong with me? Can mold ruin your lungs?

Mold can make you sick. Long term exposure maybe yes. Best to be evaluated.

As or the shortness of breath you are probably just out of shape and it will take time to buil dup your stamina again.

Go to the doctor for a complete physical and explain to him/her exactly what you stated here. Good luck .
