Black & white party. Everyone must come in black and white. My wife graduation party was that theme and it looked good :-)

I worked a 1920's gala dinner once. Women had vintage clothes, feather boas, feathers in their hair. Men wore the closest thing they could find to a zoot suit and wore fedoras.
Then there's the New-Old party. Like, a man wears a button down white shirt and tie, but ripped up jeans. Women wear nice pants, but a flannel shirt on top. Stuff like that. And the food can be half retro and half nouvelle cuisine.
Then there's the dress as your favorite celebrity, but nobody can know what they're dressing as, and everyone has to write down who they think is whom. The person who guesses the most right gets a prize, like a bottle of champagne.
Random ideas.
