Technically no, because you'd still have brain function.

No. Some people's heart beat stops for several seconds, and they don't die. It is possible that the electrical system of the heart can not function properly and cause prolonged pauses in the conduction system of the heart. This is called Sick Sinus Syndrome. The person may feel very weak, fatigued, some may black out. They don't stop breathing. These people usually end up with a pacemaker!

No, a finely tuned athlete can have a resting pulse rate in the 40s. That is less than a beat per second.

People have been revived from things like cold water drowning after as much as an hour. You actually die when the brain is starved for oxygen long enough for it to begin the death process.

Look up "Clinical Death" and "Biological Death".

First of all your heart would never just stop for a second...if it stopped for a second that means it just skipped a beat..and for some people thats normal...so no your not dead...

No your heartbeat is never constant anyway it varies depending on what you are doing. If it were to stop for several seconds then that would be cardiac arrest. You are actually dead when the brain ceases to function not when your heart stops, although usually they go hand in hand.

No you aren't, but for whatever reason if you notice your heart rate being irregular you need to get it checked out.
Check out your pulse at your wrist.
Some atheletes have a steady pulse of 40 beats per minute
that means they don't beat every second.

They say there are no stupid questions only stupid answers, so i'll avoid being critical.

My heart rate is about 60 beats per minute, one beat per second. A beat then a seconds gap....roughly. Do you think i die 60 times each minute?

If your heart starts beating twice as fast for a second, are you twice as alive for that second?

No. You just aren't breathing for a second. If you were dead you would be on the floor unconcious and not breathing at all.
