The heart reacts that way for short periods (few seconds) when interacting with caffeine, nicotine, sudafed and other stimulant drugs or medication. This is normal.
However if you are at rest and drug free and have persistent heart rhythm variation for long periods of time...say from 20 minutes to several hours you must see your doctor. Heart arrhythmia when untreated can lead to more serious condition.

It can yes, caffeine in coffee stimulates your heartrate.
Internationally agreed is that a normal heartrate lies between 60 and 100 beats per minute (BPM). So below 60 (with a normal person) is too low, and above 100 to high. Now all kinds of factors can influence that rate, like you said, coffee, but also cigarettes, stress, exercise, medication, some drugs). Some lower the heartrate, like rythm disturbances of the heart, medication like valium, extreme well trained athletics.
During the day we usually make about 70 BPM, but when sleeping tight, that can go down to 48 or so. That's completely normal.
What to do to get a heartrate normal?
If it is too fast, relax! Go lay down, close your eyes, take it easy. In a few minutes that rate is back normal.
If it doesn't go below 50 you don't need to do anything to pump that up.to 60. No problem there. When older people get a rate below 40-44 they might need a pacemaker.

Well of course it is.
Heart rate can increase by many factors.
The first is obvious. Coffee.
Coffee has a lot of caffine, which stimulates your body making your heart beat faster. That's why it's often used as an energy source. The second can be due to anxiety or stress. both of which can make your heart rate increase.

Yes it is. GREAT QUESTION! Personally, I spend a lot of time measuring my heart rate, and I find out that up to 110 beats per minute for two hours is not a problem, but usually normal heart rate is around 75.

Coffee is a stimulant so it would make your heart race, but you should have it checked out to be sure.
