Ideally, zoos sound bad, BUT... Consider this: There are many animals that could not survive in the wild, ie., injured, abandoned, abused, etc.

These animals that are in zoos, while not living a natural life, do get life, and also play a different, important role. They can educate the public and create a love for animals that might not ever come otherwise.

So, sure being in captivity sucks, but they can act as ambassadors for their own kind.

I have mixed feelings about them. I don't like the idea of the animals being confined, but a lot of animals are losing their natural habitat; zoos may actually be good for them in certain cases.

i am a vegetarian and i adore animals, but i am torn on the question of the zoo. i think they are educational, and especially if they are a home to injured animals. i don't approve of a traditional zoo. i think they should be like a park where animals live (lots of space and nature) and we can enjoy their beauty from a far.

I hate zoos that take animals out of the wild and put them in little cages.I love zoos that go around rescueing animals and giving them homes. An animal would rather live in the wild,or in someone's house(unless it's like a bear or a tiger.)but zoos are better then sickness or death.

It depends like if it is an endangered species or something like that and the animals aren't breeding fast enough and there are few of them then no and as long as they aren't hurting the animals or doing something they really shouldn't do it could seem fine as long as the animals are treated well because they have feelings as well.

I do not support traditional zoos.

I am torn on the rehab ones. I like that they're rehabbing. I don't like that they don't do it quietly & choose to profit from it under the guise of "education."

depends.
if the service is good to the animals, then yes, its good.
if they treat it badly and torture them, then its hell to them.
