now what time is it the UK - it is 11.17 in the morning in the US what time is it 4 oclock 5 oclock?

11 am on the east coast is 5 pm in the UK.

Remember in the US we have five time zones.You didn't mention what part of the US you are in .
California is 3 hours behind the East coast and Alaska is five hours behind.

I beg to differ with Cammie. The east coast of the United States is 5 hours behind GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), and the west coast is 8 hours behind. Alaska is 9 hours behind, and Hawaii is 10 hours behind.
