Fish and Chicken are not animals- Chicken is a bird and fish is a fish, which is different to animals, like the cow

ABSOLUTELY!!! More vegetarians in the world eat poultry and/or fish/seafood than don't. Especially in those cultures that have been vegetarians for centuries. Even some groups of Buddhist monks eat meat.

You might want to Google "Flexitarian Diets" or "flexitarian" and check out the websites. Old time vegetarians and vegans are growing smaller and smaller in numbers, with flexitarians becoming larger and larger.

I know that vegetarians can't eat chicken. But its weird because my friend was born into a vegetarian family and she does not eat any meat, but she has fish. I would never even have a fish, I think its disgusting. Actually I don't eat any meat. But my mom says that there are different types of vegetarian. But I never saw a one that only eats fish when I looked it up. But I guess you would consider my friend as some type of vegetarian cause she never had any meat besides fish. But I don't consider it as vegetarian.

You must have been told that by a meat eater. No, vegetarians don't eat animals. Some people call themselves vegetarian and eat animals, but they aren't really vegetarian and they didn't bother to look it up in the dictionary. "beautiful's" sister, for example.

You don't have to eat animals to get protein or any other nutrient (according to my wife who has a Master's Degree in Nutrition). I haven't eaten meat since 1983 and I have never had a "black out" due to low protein.

No! Would you call a person who eats meat a cannibal? No you wouldn't, unless they ate human flesh. By definition vegetarians don't eat animals. Chicken and fish are animals!

Of course not - vegetarians do not eat flesh of any kind. However you can choose to eat whatever you like. I don't eat meat however I am also a coleliac and have some food sensitivities. In order to be able to eat in a restaurant or go to someone elses house I have elected to eat fish on those occasions. It works for me and it doesn't have to work for anyone else.

No it is not true because vegetarian basically means you only eat things from plants not animals and even though chicken and fish are not mammals they are still animals.

This is one of those things that makes vegetarians scream.

Question 1: Is a chicken a vegetable?
Question 2: Is a fish a vegetable?

A vegetarian can of course eat chicken and fish, but then he or she isn't really a vegetarian is he/she?

Just like I can say I'm teatotal but I like to have a nip of scotch now and then.

No, the definition of a vegetarian is someone who does not eat meat, fish, poultry nor slaughter by-prroducts.

There are many other curruptions of the word vegetarian. These are a modern creation that is generally fueled by the internet. These "definitions" will nto be in any dictionary and you will not find that the respected vegetarian societies recognise them as being realted to vegetarianism
