Opacities in the left upper lobe apical segment, largest is 2x3cm. This is likely active PTB. The rest of left lung and right lung are clear. No bronchiectasis. No hymphadenopathy in the mediastinal or hilar areas. Normal pleura. No abnomility in the ribs or thoracic spine. Normal liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen and adrenal glands.
Can someone tell me what does this means?
tq

It means the radiologist strongly believes that this patient has active tuberculosis. He or she doesn't see anything else out of the ordinary, however.

The patient in question would be well-advised to see their physician as soon as possible for treatment. The patient's household contacts may need to be screened to see if they've been exposed to the patient's tuberculosis.

by your description i think you have minimal pulmonary tuberculosis.if you had a previous chest xray and it was negative then this is indeed an active lesion. you may also opt to have your sputum examined for the TB bacilli called the AFB sputum exam. you would be needing treatment. the good thing about a minimal PTB is that when you adhere to your treatment it usually heals without any scarring. better go to your doctor so he can give you prescription med for PTB.

base on the report of your medical condition.I guess you have recrudescence of your old TB infection. Before you said that you have active ptb,did you have;pulmonary cat-scan sputum culture or examination, bronchoscopy(fiberoptic),trans bronchial biopsy or gastric washing examination. If all these done and your doctor told you the diagnosisis tb, that mean you have tb infection in your lung and now is active(not the old infection )and mean you may need isolation and get treatment at time.Lucky the tb only located in your lung and not spread to other location.Get treatment right the way.If above mention test not support tb,then you need to r/o lung tumor.
