well i resently helped host a baby shower for my cuzin and i was in charge of coming up with a game and a food item.
for the food i chose to do a cute item, i made little pigs in blankets & added cream cheese on the top(for a baby bini). the cream cheese had a little bit of food die to make it cuter!
for the boy i put in blue food die, and for a girl you could put in a small amount of red(just enough to show up, but not to much to make it red).
and for the game(incase you may want it to) i got everyone to bring a baby photo and everyone guessed on which photo belonged to who.

Here are some ideas:
1. Baked glazed ham to slice for sandwiches
2. Artisan breads and mini orange muffins
3. Pasta salad or potato salad
4. Baby spinach salad with bacon, feta, mandarin oranges and french dressing
5. Cheese platter with spanish manchenga, brie, cambozola, and white cheddar.
6. Fresh fruit platter with pineapple, mango, oranges, grapes, kiwi, etc.
7. A great punch

Formal Tea Type...Tea of course and fancy finger sandwiches and cookies.
Casual / Couple Gathering...Simple...Cake, sandwiches, chips, dips, and punch.
