I'm having a dinner party and I wanted to serve the food buffet style on the table, but how can I stop the food from going cold??

Go to your local department store wal-mart,rarget,big lots what ever and ask for carisen aluminum burners that go underfoil trays. It's like a lil tin 3' candle with butaine in it that sit under those foil pans to keep the food warm,But of course your gonna have to get the racks to sit the pans in which you can also find at these stores.

Depending on what you are serving you can buy/borrow crockpots of various sizes.. I also use an electric roaster or even an electric frying pan set on the lowest setting... You can buy disposible chaffing dishes from most party stores.. You will need acouple large aluminum disposible pans... Wire racks and sterno available at most party supply stores...

invest on a crock pot to keep some items warm. they have little ones or bigger ones. I use these all the time for parties to keep my meatballs or little weenies warm! you can maek hot dips in them also

you can buy those things from party city. theres like a little flame under the tray holder so it keeps it warm.

chafing dishes that use sterno lights, they're on sale at all the stores right now due to thanksgiving.

anything that can be refridgerated and reheated- do just that

Food that cant be reheated- cover it in foil when its not being used

like under and then just have it covered
but it wouldnt look professional.
