Dang close to Louisiana, there must be some foods and recipes that come from the state of Mississippi in the US. Know any?

I love Mississippi Mud! I am visiting my favorite 2 year olds for Thanksgiving... no recipes on the lap top. If some one doe snot give you the recipe ask about M Mud next week and I will submit my recipe.

Mississippi has their own special version of grits; gumbo; fried chicken and think think even their version of Dairy Queen.. not like Texas... not better or worse... just different.

Cajun dishes like red beans and rice, gumbo, jambalaya, and po-boys are popular here because we're a neighbor to Louisiana. Also popular is fried seafood like shrimp and drums of all sorts (redfish, speckled trout, white trout, croakers). I can't think of any specific recipes except for Mud Pie from Mississippi, though.

Frog legs using Mississippi river bullfrogs. They look like little tender chicken legs dipped in seasoned flour and deep fried. The casino buffets down there have mountains of them that they go through every evening. It makes you wonder how many hundreds of thousands of frogs are in that area.

And of course there are fried green tomatoes, a recipe that was invented in Mississippi.

Mississippi is known for its catfish. Lots of catfish farms down there. And I bet Emeril has lots of recipes in his site.

Added note: I left the computer, and turned on the TV. Guess what Emeril is cooking, right now, on Emeril live. Yep!
