I use it and it has done wonders for my levels. I was a brittle diabetic and had lots of highs and lows all day long. Now with "Lantus" the levels are just that, level.

I've been using it for some time and I can control my sugar better with it than with meds. I do adjust it for my sugar level and what I intend to immediately eat and I take it twice a day, not once. With once a day my sugar fluctuated (high)with my evening meal and was too low in the afternoon so my doctor cut my dose in half and I take it twice. Works pretty good and so much easier than meds because it is so adjustable.
I don't get the concept of pills because no matter where my sugar was (just love to overeat) you just have that pill. But with Lantus you can adjust it so that you maintain your levels so much better. The most important thing you can do for youself is monitor you sugar level and adjust it yourself so that you keep yourself exactly where you need to be. Be sure you get a doctor that works with you so that YOU can keep your sugar level where it needs to be. Those doctors that say here do this and then you try to keep your sugar level down by controlling your eating are useless. If I could control my eating, I wouldn't have diabetes in the first place. Don't waste time by going through all of that. YOU adjust what you need to and you will live longer and better. The shots don't even hurt so don't worry. . .Hang in there, it's work, but it's worth it. . .

I used to but no longer. I had to use it during my pump hiatus. Now, I only use Humalog.
It didn't work for me as well as my doctor hoped. I still had a lot of fluctuations and made the decision to go back on my pump. I've had one for 8 years.
