Semen contains clotting proteins. When semen is first released, it is liquidy, but within a matter of a few seconds, it thickens and becomes really sticky and gluey. This is important for its function. Obviously, you want it to be really fluid when you're releasing it so that it leaves your body quickly and easily. But once it is out of your body, presumably is has made its way into the vagina. To deliver sperm effectively, the semen needs to clot and thicken so the it'll stick to the inside of the vagina, putting the sperm closer to their destination. After about 5 minutes, the clotting protein break down, and semen becomes liquidy again, and whatever excess then dribbles away.

So is it okay that your semen is stringy and rubbery? Yes.

Not really. It could be a colon problem so it's best to go see a doctor.
