Is there lactose-free mayo?

Question

I would like to make my tomato pie recipe, but I am trying to give-up animal-dairy products. It calls for mayo and cheese though...I know there is soy cheese, but what do I do about the mayo?

There is no dairy in mayo. It's egg and oil and vinegar.

Surprising, I know.

If you want vegan mayo (meaning no egg, either) then I highly recommend Vegenaise.

The make a mayo that is from olive oil rather than eggs. I forget what its called. It doesnt taste very good, I would want to use it on a sandwich. But it may work for cooking

As other posters have pointed out, there is no dairy in mayonnaise, just eggs and oil. But if you're using soy cheese, watch out for casein, a dairy protein. This is only problematic if you're cooking for someone who is vegan or allergic to dairy protein.

If you are looking for animal free mayonnaise, try Vegenaise. This is the best tasting substitute I've had by far (including Nayonaise!).

they have some called nayonaise. i prefer it to mayo. it tastes better!
