Eating coconut oil will also bring you blood sugar down. Eat 3 meals a day with 15-30grams of carbohydrate for each meal.

Stay away from low fat diets. Healthy fats like butter, lard, coconut oil, olive oil, etc. will normalize your blood sugar. Stay away from processed foods and trans fats. Eat whole full fat foods.

Stay away from bread, potatoes, pasta, rice and sugar. Increase the healthy fats in you diet like butter, coconut oil, cod liver oil. Eat nutrient dense diet. For more info you can contact the Weston A. Price Foundation which helps people find nutrient dense foods.

You can control without meds maybe!! But that depends entirely on how earnest you are about doin it that way.

You must cut out all potatoes, rices, pastas, breads, cereals, carrots, corn, peas and dried beans from your food plan.

Go look at Atkins or Zone diets. Or get Dr Bernstein's book. Dr Bernstein controls his type 1 with severe dietary and exercise regime! Must be entirely boring!

I personally follow the South Beach phase 2 plan with a few minor changes. But I don't want to give up entirely on all veggies and fruits either.

Do understand that this is a progressive disease. and it progresses at its own pace no matter what you try to do to stem it.

Normal levels are 65 to 100 fasting
Pre diabetes are 101 to 125 fasting
full diabetes are 126 and up fasting.

You may be able to get the numbers down by following a very low carb food plan and lots of exercise. That helps you to loose weight and inches.

Glipizide CAN cause lows or hypos!! so be aware if you do take it for a while. You can get numbers down and not have to take it forever too.

good luck!!!

I'm actually glad that you are nervous about your levels. That means that you will take care of yourself. I have diabetes, and it has been uncontrolled for years. For some reason, the doctor and I can't get it under control, but I have suffered sever consequences because of this. Just keep exercising, Tony, and watch what you eat because it isn't just sugar that makes your levels go up, it's any carbs, which you can't avoid entirely. It sounds as though you are doing a great job of watching yourself. Don't give up, no matter how tempting it is, especially this time of the year. Exercise is almost more important than your diet, so keep up the good work!

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Wow. That is crazy your already diabetic man! Anyways I would recommend that you put pepper on your meals, because the special ingredient chormium helps regulate insulin levels. I would also do at leats 30 mins of exercise this also help regulate sugar. And try not too eat too much sugar. I gurantee this will help. I can give a good example when I was 18 I use to drink 50 cans of soda and my sugar level skyrocketed. When I finally stopped I did some exercise and put pepper on my meals I was able to drop my sugar levels and bring them back to normal. My doctor was very surprised. Hope this helps out.

Buy something called FOENUGREEK. Get the powdered version rather than the seeds. Foenugreek is a Middle Eastern herb that has a horrible taste but is good for people with diabetes. I started using it about 2 months ago after reading in Prevention Magazine that it was excellent for controlling diabetes and my blood sugar levels dropped so significantly that my doctor told me I don't have to come back to see him for 6 mos. It had to be because of the foenugreek. I haven't been exercising the way I was before but suddenly my levels have plummeted. I put one level tablespoon in flavored milk (with sweetener) each morning and drink it down quickly. Foenugreek will congeal if you let it soak in liquid too long. You can eat it this way if you prefer but it doesn't have a very pleasant taste, but it's excellent for you healthwise. Arabs, particularly Bedouins eat foenugreek to insulate them from the cold. It also increases breast milk for nursing mothers. Try it. It'll reduce your blood sugar numbers for sure.

Losing weight helps a lot.
All foods are converted into glucose by the body.
Fats in 6-8 hours or more, Proteins (meat, eggs, beans) in 3-4 hours, and Carbohydrates in 30 minutes. Carbohydrates include starches such as rice, pasta, breads and cereals.
A proper diet will combine fats, carbohydrates, and proteins at each meal, to provide nutrients and create an even release of glucose into the blood. Whole Grain carbohydrates turn into sugar slowly and help keep the blood sugar stable.
Avoid sugar and high amounts of carbohydrates. Eat moderate, balanced meals at regular times.

Yes, that is diabetes, not pre-diabetes. Talk to your doctor about controlling your diabetes without meds. They can help you come up with a plan. Losing weight is definately a big thing to do to help control it so you are on the right path there. It is important that your doctor is aware that you don't want to take the meds so don't let them think you are taking the glipizide when you are not. It is very important to be up front and honest. They could refer you to a dietician who can recommend a diet for you to help control your blood sugars. Good luck!
