because when you threw the mashed potatoes, it didnt reach the ceiling, and when it did, the mashed potatoes is still inside the dish...

too much milk. Omit milk. Replace with glue. (not Elmers. The old-school kind that's lumpy & you have to dig it out of a jar..they used to call it "paste")
