So my drains kept backing up in the bathroom and I got online to do some research for home remedies before paying buco bucks to have a plumber come out. Results were dishsoap + bleach + hot water = ferocious flush and no burping in the shower and sink. No one said anything about a sore throat, cough, and nausia. I laid in bed most of the day thinking I had a fever, and after having the windows open for a while, I started feeling better. I'm drinking lots of liquids, but I don't know if I should be scared of any lingering gases. I still don't feel well and I don't know if that's the problem.

Ah, natural selection at work.

Read the label before you mix bleach with anything next time.

If bleach fumes get into the nose or back of the throat, irrigate the area using a salt and soda nasal wash (¼-tsp salt + ¼-tsp backing soda + 1-cup water) using an ear bulb syringe or just inhaling the solution from a cupped palm. There is no treatment for burned bronchial tubes or lungs except rest. A steam tent might help and cough medicine may help. The patient will recover in a few days but often have breathing difficulty and can be in pain with breathing over this time.

Mixing bleach with other household chemicals is a big no-no. You generated chlorine gas which is poisonous (it is one of the gases used in World War I). If you do not get over the symptoms quickly, you should seek medical help.

Go smear the soles of your feet (only) with Vick's Vapo Rub. Put on socks and go to bed tonight. You will be amazed at how good you feel tomorrow.

your fine, at most you mildly burned the lining of your lung by breathing in the bleach and that will heal up in a few days...if you dont smoke, that is.

Good Luck!!!
