No product is animal cruelty free. The delivery truck that brings your "cruelty free" product kills hundreds of bugs and animals a year. You might as well use the animal tested products and not stink.

I would go to a health food store or at least the natural foods aisle of your local grocery and poke around. I've Tom's of Maine deo in the past, but it did not work for me at all. I know a company named Jason makes some decent offerings...and do some research online and you'll surely find a website reccomending animal-friendly products.

I use the Thai Crystal, and it works on all but the hottest days. You just wet it a bit and rub on your pits, and you're good to go. It's a deodorant, not an antiperspirant, but it will keep you from stinking.

Lush also makes deodorant bars. I tried a sample of Aromarant, and it works pretty well.

The best one I've found so far is L'occitane en provence's deodorant. I used to like The body shop's, but now they belong to L'oréal.

Go vegan! :-)

To Flexetarian Vegan:
That's a great mentality. So if one day you run over someone with your car, might as well go on doing it, since anyway you've already killed someone? Because you are accidently killing insects when walking and driving doesn't mean you can consciously torture other living beings too. Not very vegan minded, even for a flexetarian, I've got to say.

If you care about animals you should care about YOU, too. You're an animal as well, you know. Antiperspirants are not natural. Your body sweats to release toxins. If you stop yourself from sweating by using something with aluminum you are asking for trouble. Anything you put on your skin goes into your bloodstream!
Anyway, I also suggest the crystal deodorant - the roll on.
Also Miessence is a great brand (find it online somewhere) and my husband swears by it. Those are both ALL NATURAL and are cruelty-free. You're right that a lot of all natural brands DO suck. The ones I recommended are really good though. Trust.

I suggest Tom's or even this odd crystal thing. I was surprised, but the crysal (which you can get a grocery store) does work well. Also, if you're smelly...you may want to concider the food you eat. I went 70% organic last year and haven't had to wear deoderant since!

Aramis deodorant. You have to get it at a dept store...and it ain't cheap. Smells good, no sweat stains...only thing that works for me.

If you can bear the appalling name (!) Innoxa's "Free and Easy" deodorant is excellent, and heavy-duty. I like the sports one, which is suitable for masculine and feminine types. Here's a pic:

Not tested on animals, viz:

(The best (and strictest) list!)
