I take blood pressure medication. When I first started taking the medication it made me very tired and sleepy. Sadly that is one of the side effects of this type of medication. I was able to cut down on the meds after following all of the doctors instructions.

This is a fairly common side effect of most BP meds, although some are more known for this than others. Avrit from diuretics, which affect BP indirectly, there are four basic categories of BP meds these days. If you are having this problem with one type, your dr. should be trying another or at least modifying the dose. You can also combine different kinds so that the side effects even out. Severe sleepiness is a sign that this is the wrong drug or dosage level for you. I can say from experience that these effects can wear off in some cases after awhile (a few months) if you can get through this phase.

You should read "The Blood Pressure Solution" (also available in electronic format here: http://www.bloodpressuresolution.pw ) It's a very comprehensive step-by-step book that walks you through the natural remedies of high blood pressure. It provides you with a lot of information on what foods to eat, how you can acquire and prepare these foods, how you can change your lifestyle for the better, how to eliminate the toxins from your body, how to reduce stress, how you can check your blood pressure level the correct way etc.

The book is amazing in that it not only lowers your blood pressure without the help of medications; it also aids you in having a life that is healthy, happier, and less stressful. This book chanced my life.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!

You need a lower dose. The goal is usually below 120/80. I try to have mine at 100-110/ 60-70.

I use my pills at 1/2 or 3/4 most of the time, with my doctors approval. I check my BP almost daily.

Take a half a pill.
Saturated fat is the main dietary cause of high blood cholesterol. Saturated fat is found mostly in foods from animals and some plants. Foods from animals include beef, beef fat, veal, lamb, pork, lard, poultry fat, butter, cream, milk, cheeses and other dairy products made from whole and 2 percent milk. All of these foods also contain dietary cholesterol. Foods from plants that contain saturated fat include coconut, coconut oil, palm oil and palm kernel oil (often called tropical oils), and cocoa butter.
High cholesterol causes high blood pressure. The best thing for high cholesterol is Losing weight. A plant-based diet in conjunction with a properly conducted fast most often leads to a total recovery or a vast improvement in hypertension and angina.

I've been on a beta blocker for about 10 years now. I remember complaining a first because it made me tired. My doc told me to take it with a meal and the tireness went away after while. Don't even notice it now.
