Being a vegetarian is neither particularly Christian nor unchristian.
According to the Bible, God didn't create animals to be eaten. However, God gave us permission to do so after the flood. Mainly, though, it says we shouldn't allow the food we eat to interfere with how we treat other people.
I think it's interesting that, while God says it's OK to eat meat now if you want, at the beginning and the end of the world God made/will make every living thing vegetarian.
But basically, the Bible doesn't condeem or support vegetarianism, so do what you want. Just be respectful to other people.

Key verses:
"I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food." Genesis 1:29-30
Context: God speaking to Adam and Eve about how they should tend the garden of Eden
"Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything." Genesis 9:3
Context: God speaking to Noah and his family after the great flood
"He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord." Romans 14:6-8
Context: From a letter written by Paul to the Romans. The Christians there were fighting over the morality of eating meat that had been sacrificed to pagan gods.
"The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox." Isaiah 11:6-7
Context: The vision concerning Judah and Jerusalem that Isaiah saw.

I'm not familiar with the verse you posted. If you tell me where it is in the Bible I can research it for you.

You can be a vegetarian and christian because either way you should be accepted because as long as you don't harm others for not just eating fruits, vegetables, soy products maybe or other things you should be fine. It is a choice to be used.

Eat what you wanna eat! I'm a Christian and I don't eat meat! Just ignore the religious zealots that tell you you're going to hell and that animals were put on this earth to eat.

Well, there is a Christian Vegetarian Society, so they'd probably say, yes, you can be a vegetarian Christian. And look at the Seventh Day Adventists (although I have heard their vegetarianism is health-related, but I couldl be wrong).

You can eat what you want as long as you give thanks for it. The verse your reffering to doesn't actually say vegetables. It means its better to be poor and have nothing but veggies to eat and have love in the home than to be rich and eat the fatted calf(as it were) and have no love in the home. It's in Proverbs

Um... that verse advocates vegetarianism.
Many go vegetarian BECAUSE they're christian.
Do you think christ would support the way animals are treated on factory farms??

Personally I think that being vegetarian/vegan is just being human.
But many think that being vegetarian is part of being Christian.
If you read the "The Essene Gospels of Peace" you will see that it is clearly advocated and has been edited from the bible.

God gave man 'dominion' over animals, last time I checked, dominion does not mean 'eat'.
Not all Christian eat meat. Jesus didn't. He was an Esscene.
