go to your local grociery store bakery and asks about sheet cakes. they usually have an idea of how big a cake you will need for how many people. and might have better prices than an outside baker.

To take the pressure off of you, I would order the sheet cake of the proper size to feed the guests, from Sam's Cub or a grocery bakery. They look great and are very reasonable.
Instead of cake you could serve fudgicles or frozen popsicles or those flavoured freezie pops,as a party fun treat surprise. It's fun. Not everyone , by the way eats cake. So the size does not have to be to feed all 70 guests.

My suggestion is to skip the cake altogether and make a cupcake rack instead. That way, you can serve your guests birthday cupcakes and you won't have to worry with stretching a tiny cake. Either that, or make a few similar cakes and have the rest in reserve for after you cut the main cake.

Congratulations on the sweet sixteen, by the way. I hope you can figure out your cake crisis before your party.

Make a small personal cake just for you after all it is your day. Have a large sheet cake made to be served to everyone else. Just get the stuff in the box and follow the direction. Most stores have the box stuff on sale right now for the holiday's. This way everyone can have a nice piece of cake.

WAH! THATS REALLY ALOTA SIA!!!

hmmm... you can also skip the cakes like wat some previous ones said. or maybe you might wanna have a cake enuf to feed ALL your relatives that are more SENIOR than you. this would be a simple act of respect. then the rest of your peers can recieve a cupcake each!!! (one user also said that!!)

Or you can D.i.Y!!! then make it horrible, so no one dares to eat!!! (haha... dont try this! its no respect!)

well, mainly, on a budget, you can stil d.i.y and have fun in the making of the cakes! and did you know that you might save a lot of money in the making of the cake?

if the oven is tooo small, you can make as many as you want separately, then kinda like piece them together to form one big rectangular one (or any shape) and do the cover up of the seams with some designs using cream etc. then you can personalise it! yay!!! its done!

or, you can get a VERY VERY VERY kind CAKE BAKER to bake it for you at your budget, then tell him you will do the designs yourself, this way cutting the cost and also personalising it :)

yeah, hope this solves your problem.

how big is your birthday cake? You usually want 1 x 2 inch pieces.

Here's a link to the wilton web site that shows what size cake pans feed how many people, so you'll be sure to have enough.

First make sure you have a lot of good food- that will keep your guests happy because everyone loves good food. Try playing slow dance music - it may be kind of boring but to make it more fun without playing pop music have a photo booth with props or a few other things. Maybe people can requests songs at the party so everyone like the songs. Like write the songs name on a piece of paper and put it in a hat or bowl an pick one out.- if you want to. Put on a few slow songs and a few pop songs so its a win win.

Have your main Birthday cake and then surround it with cupcakes or a sheet cake... You can bake and decorate yourself to save on expenses... or you and some close friends could do it together... trust me you would have fun doing it

Happy Birthday.
