I constantly feel as if my vascular/circulatory system is malfunctioning, or not working well enough. I tire quite easily, little exertion causes my heart to race, and serious exercise causes me nausea, dizziness, and sometimes, vomiting. I feel my blood pumping through me in "shocks" or "waves" every minute or two, like it is struggling.
I also feel thirsty quite constantly.
I smoke and drink, but besides those two things, I don't have many bad things I do to myself. I am 20.
What could these things mean? I'm constantly uncomfortable because of them, and I fear they mean something worse will follow.

Hey buddy, don't panic, you are simply suffering from vitamin B12 deficiency. Eat more foods rich in this vitamin ie: organ meats such as lambs fry and kidneys, skimmed milks, cheese, fish and eggs.
if you are lactose intolerant or vegetarian then supplementing your diet with a multi B complex tablet - including all the B's ie: B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12 as they work best together, is really important.
The B complex of vitamins is essential for healthy neural, immune and digestive functioning. They are a water soluble complex and as such our bodies can neither store or produce them. Therefore we need to ingest them on a daily basis or suffer the consequences as you unfortunately are.
Fatigue and exhaustion, chest pains and heart palpitations, nausea and vomiting, headaches and migraines, dizzy spells, loss of balance, irritability and moodiness, excessive sweating, tingling and prickling and numbing sensations in the outer extremities, insomnia and constipation are all symptoms of Vitamin B12 deficiency!! Pretty frightening actually if you don't realise the vitamin factor.
The excessive thirst part is due to vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) deficiency. This can be caused by tricyclic antidepressants, medicines such as Prednisone and Pencillin which will all do a great job of robbing you of your B6 supplies. Thus, to counter this either quit the cause or supplement with a multi B complex tablet as B6 will be included in a multi B.
Other things which can be robbing you of your precious B's are excessive intake of coffee, tea, sodas, soft drinks and alcohol ............. these things will also rob you of your Vitamin C stores (aides in protecting you from many types of flu and viruses), potassium (essential for sending oxygen to the brain) and calcium (healthy bones and teeth).
GOOD LUCK

You might want to check into anxiety and panic attacks. I'm not sure but it kind of sounds like the same symptoms I have been having. My mouth and tongue would go numb and dry. I'd get very dizzy, my muscles felt like glue and all my joints hurt. And the intense feeling of dread or doom like Im going to die or something is going to happen to me which is so hard to ignore even though ive been thru it so many times. My heart races.. on and on the symptoms go. I have so many just from stress its hard to believe its real. I had quit smoking cold turkey and quit all caffeine (even chocolate). What made the "panic attacks" worse was when I would obsess over being "sick" and believe something was wrong with me, it was like a circle. After these I am very fatigued and exhausted like i just worked out for a long time. You should look into the symptoms of anxiety and talk to your doctor. Might not be whats wrong but I'd suggest to go to the Dr.
If it is those it will just get worse or continuous. I waited a whole month before I couldnt go thru it anymore. I was too tired. So I finally went to see him. Don't really have any more advice. Im still dealing with the problem. Lol. Hope I helped a bit.

HI Kurt
Smoking will cause obvious heart and blood issues. Your body is giving you signals (causes you mentioned) to change your health patterns or you'll have bigger issues later.
You also really need to consider suggestions I make below (look at #4 closely), regardless of the health issue. If you do these steps below, you'll give the body time to heal the issue without having to digest meat. dairy, manmade chemicals, preservatives, etc.
Here is a list of important health topics people dont realize or take for granted and thus causes issues.
1. stress = most of it is self induced. Even thinking and actually talking about negative means you attact more negative energy. Visualize and "Feel" a healthy beautiful body (end result) and you'll have it before you know it.
Once the body breaks down from stress then its much easier to get sick or unhealthy for that matter.
Obviously exercise helps manages stress tremendously!
Remember what you focus on (negative or positive) is what you will attract in your life. This universal law is called "The Law of Attraction".
2. Lack of water. Drink a gallon of distilled water to hydrate the body and flush out the excess waste and toxins out of the blood.
3. Nutrition = this helps heal the body and will gives it energy to work on the internal issues. Mainly raw organic fruit and vegetables. If you only ate organic raw F & V for 7-10 days and drank distilled water you would see a change in your energy and be on your way to better health. Letting the body rest from digesting meats, dairy, and processed foods would do wonders for you.
4. clogged colon = Not eliminating the processed food and chemicals we eat every day will give anyone an illness and/or disease. If doctors we're actually taught this, our society would be much improved. DO a colon cleanse to clear out excess waste and toxins in the blood. This will help heal any illness or disease.
Best of health to you

Go to a cardiologist and get some tests. Quit smoking. Quit drinking. Neither one is good for you, but you already know that. Good luck.

This sounds like palpitations. Check this site: http://www.emedicinehealth.com/palpitations/article_em.htm
They have pages on symptoms and causes. To begin with you should have an ekg and blood work done, particularly for anemia and hypothyroidism, and go from there.
