My family and I always play a game called pass the Ace. Everyone gathers around the table with a stack of four dollars. Everyone gets one card from your standard deck. First person to the left of the dealer has the option to pass or hold. Then the process goes around the whole table. The object is not to end up with the lowest card. The Ace is the lowest card in this game. So if you pass your two of hearts to your neighbor hoping for a higher card and they hand you an ace. Your out of luck. When the last person passes there card to there neighber then everyone flips up there card. Lowest card throws in one of there dollars to a cup or jar in the middle of the table. If a person has a king, then they flip it up at the very beginging and they dont have to pass to there neighbor. I know it sounds confusing but its a fun game to play while your turkey settles and your enjoying your dessert or coffee. Also, when you are out of dollars you still have one more chance. My family and I call it on your face. You have no more dollars but you still are in the game one more time. Who ever outlasts without loosing there dollars is the winner. I never realized how confusing explaining this could be, but I think you get the general idea.

You could get a Wii - it's a great system - even people who don't like video games (like me) have fun playing the Wii. You could set up some arts and craft projects -that would be fun for the kids, teens and the ladies. Rent a bunch of movies that would be enjoyable to everyone. Get lots of board games and play those as well.... Plan to go to a park and play pick up football after the football game.

How about Pokeno and for a lil spice use quarters to win. Teens are funny so think twice about the arts and crafts. Uno is always a big hit(keep score) and maybe a grand prize for the winner....and what is cuter than watching a 7 year old act out their favorite character from a disney movie while the adults pull their hair out, lol.

If you want everyone doing the same thing, board games are out. However, the kids can bring their favorite games and play while the adults catch up. Or play charades. Or if you have a 2nd tv, rent a DVD or pay-per-view.

My (large) family likes to play charades. You don't need anything but a pencil and pieces of paper! It's a good game for all ages and you play in teams. Also, you have to get up off the couch when it's your turn! Helps to burn up some that turkey feast.
And there's always Family Feud....

Charades is fun for adults and kids. Catch Phrase is a fun game for all as well though it tends to get a bit loud if you have a lively group.
