Tell your mom you are sick and that you are congested. She will know how to help you. It sounds like a bad cold, hon.

Start with some nice hot herbal type tea. Not black tea. That has caffeine. Like coffee does. If you don't have any herbal tea in the house, just have some hot water. I

f you have some lemon or lemon juice put a little in it, and drink it slowly. It will help you feel better.

Your body wants to get rid of ALL that green phlegm. By the way, most 13 year olds wouldn't even know how to spell that word. Good for you!

You have an infection, anytime you see green or brown phlegm you have an infection. Go to the doctor and if he doesn't agree that you do have an infection, cough him up some phlegm and have the lab look at it. Now things you can do on your own, take a long hot shower, it will help clear your lungs. Go for a short run if you are physically fit, it always helps me break up gunk in my lungs even when I have an infection. Try Mucinex, it's never helped me but I hear that it helps other people.

It means you have some kind of upper respitory infection, very common these days.
Drink liquids, eat well, and see a Doctor when you can.
Hot Liquids, tea, coffee, cider, chocolate, will help loosen up the phlegm, as will hot showers.

Yellow or green mucus usually means you have an infectious cold and are probably contagious. Probably not serious but you should see a doctor.
