Switch to brown rice (not instant) to increase your fiber intake. Drink more water and eat more vegetables. Enjoy rice, but make sure you eat an equal or greater volume of vegetables, fruit, and proteiny foods with it. Eat the vegetables first and the rice last.
Most importantly: Don't be afraid of leaving leftovers. Stop eating when you stop feeling hungry. You can always finish it for dinner.

Switch to brown rice, it doesn't have so much carbs in it and it's so much healthier for you.
Definitly keep rice in your diet because you need those carbs for energy, just limit yourself. (1/2 c cooked rice is one serving)
Eat lots of veggies and fruits, drink plenty of water, and you can get plenty of protein from chicken, eggs, beans or nuts. Eating about 5 small portioned meals a day is the best for you so your metabolism stays level and you'll lose the extra weight.
Try to stay away from dairy, red meat, and refined sugars. There's way too many unhealthy additives in those.
One more thing (and that's it I promise) I would check out two magazines. One is called Shape and the other is called Self. Both have great diet plans and exercises, with success stories of other people.

rice is a carb and carbs makes u feel hungry sooner since they digests easily...so if u can eat like lots of raw veggies it will fill the stomach...since it contains a lot of fiber...and eat like four times a day..like breakfast at 8 brunch at 12 lunch at 3 and dinner at 7...and always include veggies in ur meals also yoghurt..and always eat dinner atleast 2 hours before u go to bed..and make sure that what ever chances u make in ur diet u should ease it in if u do it all at once u will start to binge... best of luck

When u eat carbohydrates, your body craves more carbs. It takes awhile for your body to adjust to not having so much carbs. Just stick to eating smaller servings of rice (the cravings will decrease), & don't eat white rice, all the nutrients are bleached out of it just like white flour. Eat brown rice(higher in fiber, helps you lose weight), minimal sugar & salt, & whole wheat flour products. Learn how to read labels. Drink lots of water, increase fruit & vegies, walk & lift weights regularly(muscle burns more calories even when you're resting). Stick to it , it will get easier after just 2-3 weeks.

Take more fiber rich foods, raw vegetables, green leafy vegetables, fruits like grapefruit (helps dissolve away excess fat in your abdomen) especially are very helpful. Avoid carbohydrate and fat laden foods, junk foods. Avoid artificial cold beverages like pepsi, coke, etc they contain more "empty calories" - i.e. they are not nutritious instead more harmful. Try including brown rice (very popular in Kerala). Include Ragi (as they call in south India) i.e. Finger millet (Eleusine coracana), it is rich in calcium and helps u do away with excess fat in ur body, also good for diabetics and heart patients. Avoid foods that contain trans-fats (saturated fats like vanaspati) instead switch to rice bran oil (good for heart also). Hydroxycitric acid helps control ur appetite and is used in weight reduction plans, so u eat less or get the feeling of fullness soon (satiety). Kokum fruit (Garcinia cambogia), also known as "kodam puli" in Malayalam (used extensively in Malabar coast - Kerala and Goa for curing fish and in gravies) is rich in hydroxy citric acid. Make rasam with kokum fruit instead of tamarind and have it with rice and it might work.

Rice has no fat.. its those nuts and other veggies that give you fat.. as the for carbo, burn it off with exercise
