I've made some before using a few dashes of paprika a dash or two of cayenne, a little bit of salt and a little bit of black pepper. It was really good and spicy. Also, if you have it, I've heard that cumin works really well in homemade taco seasoning.

As a Mexican culinary snob... I hate taco seasoning... if you tell me what you are cooking I might give you some very nice tips.

Otherwise if you MUST have it then use some mainstream seasoning like Lawry's and add some Cumin & Chile Powder... and you are set. Ratio could be (40%, 40%, 20%)

I never use taco seasoning. I brown the meat and pour La Victoria MILD taco sauce over the meat. I pour water in the pan, mix in the sauce and let it boil down into the meat (which gives it the flavor).

Do you have taco sauce? Just cook your meat, then when it is fully cooked, stir in the taco sauce and let it heat through. Also, you can cook the meat then use salt, pepper, and cumin.
