make them a hypocrite?
Since organic produce is fertilized with animal parts and manure while the other is fertilized with chemicals, isn't the regular produce the conscientious choice?

It's not unexpected that everybody mentioned the manure but avoided mentioning the rendered animal parts which would be the hypocrisy part.

Julia---"Organic produce doesn't use insecticides, but regular produce does"----They use pesticides on organic produce. Organic pesticide, not manmade chemicals.

Some people are saying that vegans shouldn't have a problem with manure. Manure is a by-product of slaughterhouses. Agricultural workers do not collect manure from people's pet animals-- the "poop" comes from slaughterhouses just as the bones, gelatin, hair, and hides are collected and processed originally from a slaughterhouse.
One must also be aware that animal products other than manure are used in organic farming (blood and bone meal), but what is to say that these aren't used in "regular" foods?
There are 2 things a vegan can do: 1, as far as prepared foods (not fruits, vegetables), you can buy organic (cookies, etc) from vegan manufacturers who most likely insure that their crops are grown without animal products while also being organic. 2, you can try to buy your crops locally and find out which chemicals and products each farmer uses.
You may find the concept of Community Supported Agriculture and veganic gardening interesting. Veganic is both vegan and organic, as the name implies. Here are links for both:

It might, technically. But most people don't consider collecting poop to be exploiting an animal. Animals always produce poop and it's better for the animal to not leave their feces piling up for them to wade in.
Additionally, a vegan might be aware of the more far-reaching effects of chemicals. Is it more important to avoid using an animal waste product, or is it more important to use natural products that have a smaller impact on the ecosystem as a whole? Organic produce doesn't use insecticides, but regular produce does. Natural animal by-product or chemical specifically designed to kill animals? What is the best thing to do with animal wastes?
It's a decision up to the vegan and not us, though you are right... it might present a bit of a Catch-22 for some. Ethical eating isn't as simplistic as what a source of fuel is, be it for people, plants, or machines.

I am not a vegan,
But... I'll answer anyway. I don't buy organic, since I'm not too sure that it makes any difference. Sounds like another reason to sell something at a ridiculously high price.
And from anything I've read, washing off produce with good old soap and water will take care of anything that "may or may not" be leftover on my fruits & veggies.
Gone for a while... working demands a lot of my time lately.

Great, you just turned me off of organic produce. lol I just assumed all produce was fertilized with manure...which is pretty freaking disgusting. I'd much rather some good old fashioned chemicals. Yum!

It depends on their motivation behind being a vegan. If they are doing it for animal rights, then perhaps organic isn't the best option (though healthiest) but if they are doing it for health reasons then I don't think it's a huge deal.

The bees use the honey and the milk would dry up. Cows do not make milk unless they have nursing calves or get injected with hormones. Its the same for any mammal. Human women produce milk due to hormones and if the milk is not used, it does not produce.

I've been to many organic farms and they do not use animal waste to fertilize their crops. If done properly, fertilization is not needed at all.

No it doesn't make them a hypocrite . . . they just ignore the fertilizer issue and gladly pay 25%-50% more for the same crap with an "organic" label thinking they are getting something "special".
