This is actually a difficult question. Some people think that yes, it is unChristian to be a vegan. There are many Biblical references to eating meat and other animal products. There is a passage in the Bible in which G-d promises to deliver Israel to a land flowing with "milk and honey" which indicates that those are both good things. G-d also gives man dominion over land and beast in a passage in the Bible.

But if you look at Genesis, you notice something interesting...

And God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is a living soul, I have given every green herb for food: and it was so." Genesis 1:29-30

This indicates that plants are supposed to be food for all living things, including people. Notice that G-d does not indicate that animals are food for people. In fact, in the Garden of Eden, the Garden (not the critters) was what was for eatin'. (Yuk yuk... garden of eatin'... sorry.)

In essence, it depends on who you ask and where you look. I guess that from a Biblical standpoint, you could make a case that G-d initially intended for humans to eat only plants. However, after humans got kicked out of Paradise for eating from the wrong tree, all bets were off. So I think you can in good conscience be a vegan Christian.

do vegans believe in transubstantiation or eat animal crackers? I dont think it is un christian, and i am a mail-order reverend, so i would know. If it was un-christian would you stop doing it or would you believe in your own view of whats moral? I think if there is a god that he would be cool with you taking what is usually translated as "dominion over" to mean "care for," dont you?

it quite is honestly written with the aid of Paul, if something he does, possible, offends all of us he will stop doing it. the tibetan new testomony compiled with the aid of Glenn kimball and translated interior the 1880 or ninety's seems to assert that eating meat is a sin to christ "if the animal is 'slaughtered"' however the bible says that it is the doctrine of "devils" to forbid to consume meat. that's the actual interpretaion and actual translation and actual custom. i'm latest technique this debate ideal now. in case you suspect the bible words rapidly because it quite is written now, it is not an offense to christians to be vegan till the guy is honestly rude. in case you suspect the tibetan translation which seems to be allegedly translated from a "source" manuscript, than being a vegetarian is extra the HOLY way and the better way of spirituality. (Rev Gideon Jasper Richard Ousley - 1892)

Im a christian and im a vegan, I beleive in god and i also believe that all animals are equal including humans. I believe in the big bang, evolution not creatisiom(I spelled that wrong i think) But i also beleive there is a higher being like god, Krishna, Buddha etc.
Just most animals are incapable of intelligent though except us and we should know better then to kill for the belly. OVERALL if someone tells you thats it unchristian tell them that the way i beleive in god it isn't(And who are you to tell me if im unchristian).

No, because it is a choice that you make. You are supposed to make good choices in your life, and as long as what you do isn't detrimental to your body....it is a good choice. You also have "free will", which enables you to do as you see fit for yourself....."God helps those who help themselves"....good luck with your endeavor!
