Diabetes Causes
Type 1 diabetes is believed to be an autoimmune disease. The body's immune system attacks the cells in the pancreas that produce insulin.
A predisposition to develop type 1 diabetes may run in families but much less so than for type 2.
Environmental factors, such as certain types of viral infections, may also contribute.
Type 1 diabetes is most common in people of non-Hispanic white persons of Northern European descent, followed by African Americans and Hispanic Americans. It is relatively rare in those of Asian descent.
Type 1 diabetes is slightly more common in men than in women.
Type 2 diabetes: Type 2 diabetes is believed to have a strong genetic link, meaning that it tends to run in families. Several genes are being studied that may be related to the cause of type 2 diabetes. Risk factors for developing type 2 diabetes include the following:
High blood pressure
High blood triglyceride (fat) levels
Gestational diabetes or giving birth to a baby weighing more than 9 pounds
High-fat diet
High alcohol intake
Sedentary lifestyle
Obesity or being overweight
Ethnicity: Certain groups, such as African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Japanese Americans, have a greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes than non-Hispanic whites.
Aging: Increasing age is a significant risk factor for type 2 diabetes. Risk begins to rise significantly at about age 45 years, and rises considerably after age 65 years

The short answer to that question is that scientists are still not sure how you get diabetes. It is certainly not contagious. You won't catch it from somebody for instance. This article will examine this question in more detail, explaining what diabetes is, the different types of diabetes and some popular theories as to how you get diabetes.
Diabetes is a disease hereby the body can't control the amount of sugar in the blood. The hormone insulin is used to control blood sugar so diabetes interferes with the production of insulin.
There are three types of diabetes and each interferes with the production of insulin in different ways.
Type 1 Diabetes
Type 2 Diabetes
Gestational Diabetes

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

My son has Type 1 diabetes. He got it from a virus/infection. The body attacked and desroyed it's own cells in the pancreas-now the pancreas does not work at all-it does not produce any insulin(which controls the amount of sugar in the blood)and now he is insulin dependant-has to take insulin shots 4 times a day.
Ok-Type 2 is caused by increasing age, obesity, and lack of physical activity. The pancreas still works but does not use the insulin it produces correctly. Diabetes is not CAUSED by eating sweets and eating the wrong foods-but those things contribute to the obesity-which is a cause.
Diabetes is very often misunderstood by those not educated.
There is no cure.

There is no one exact cause. Some researchers say that it is genetic. This means that if your parents have diabetes, the risks to developing diabetes yourself increases.
Infection due to virus is also cited as another possible reason.
Obesity is not a direct cause but it increases your risk as well.

it depends on the type of diabetes
type 1- although the causes are not entirely known, scientists believe the body's own immune system not only attacks an external virus but goes on to attack and destroy the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. These are called islet cells and within them are beta cells; their job is to metabolize carbohydrates. It is not caused by obesity or by eating excessive sugar, which are two common myths about type 1. Both genetics and environmental "triggers" are being studied as potential causes of type 1
type 2- is more common and is caused my obesity and is more likely hereditary

No exercise, eating too much, and eating too much junk, too much sugar, sodas, candy, ect... to not get diabetes you have to eat a well balanced meal, one, three times daily, stay fit by exercising (critical) only snack fruits to stay away hunger between meals, and stay away from high sugary foods, and don't gain weight, your pancreas only produces so much insulin for an ideal body weight, so if you gain weight, then you'll have to inject insulin, pills ect...
