I've always loved BBQ. But when I lived in the city of LA a coworker who was black told me that I didn't know BBQ unless I had black BBQ. And 13 years later I must say that the black BBQ she brought in was the best BBQ I've ever tasted, Is there any brother or sister in here that would be kind enough to give me a recipe for some kind of black BBQ. I got some baby backs to cook. Or anything else your recipe calls for. Thanks!

I didn't mean to offend. My coworker was a black woman who used the words "black BBQ" She set out to a black BBQ house in Palmdale California to buy the food. She said it was run by a black family. That's all i know. But damn was it good!

Rub them down with your favorite seasonings the day or night before cooking them. Cover with foil. The next day, let them set for 1 hour or so after taking it out of the refrigerator. Cook slowly on 300 for a few hours. After they have cooked, pour off the drippings into a sauce pan, and make your own BBQ. Add 1/2 c. of apple juice or cider and another juice (your choice; orange, pineapple, etc.) 1/2 c. of brown sugar, 1/2 c. of ketchup, and 1/2 c. honey. From there add whatever you wish (go by taste)....... liquid smoke, garlic, red pepper, hot sauce, vinegar, onions, mustard, molasses ............. Pour over ribs ...... place back in oven to "burn/brown" ........... it'll make you wanna slap your mama!!!!!!!!!!

I use this recipe for 'ribs'...also...enjoy: Cola Chicken 1 family size package chicken wings 2 cup catsup 2 - 12oz. can cola (pepsi, coke, etc.) 2- packages McCormicks Buffalo wings seasoning Put chicken in a non-stick pan. Mix together catsup and cola, seasoning….pour over chicken. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat…cover with lid..and cook 45 minutes. (turning chicken a few times, while cooking...to prevent from sticking to pan) Cook until the sauce becomes thick and adheres to the chicken. It turns into the most incredible BBQ sauce. Yummmm! I used the spices from a MILD (I don't care for "HOT") Buffalo Wings packet...(the kind you get to bake in the oven).....I thought it was really good.....(but you/I can't find a 'bad' way to fix chicken). This recipe is doubled…..for my husband and myself…I use ½ the ingredients. You can double…the double….and more as you like. BBQ Ribs Use the same method (Cola Chicken)….leave out McCormicks seasoning. Ribs & Chicken wings both good…..and……‘s I m p l e’…..to fix…!!

Buy some baby back ribs at the market. Set your over to 250 to 350 and salt & pepper the ribs cover with foil and slow cook them in your oven. Cook untill almost fork tender get your fav BBQ sauce and cover your ribs and take off foil and cook about 30 to 45 mins longer and they should fall right off the bone and the sauce gets nice and thick and carmlized. YUM !!

black ribs?.....well, my hubby always takes that thin layer of skin off the back of the ribs, and he trims all that fat off too.
he soaks them in vinegar, water, and crushed red pepper overnight.
then, the next day he genorously seasons them with bbq seasoning that's usually sold in meat markets.
he prepares his coals and gets them ashy white.
he puts the ribs on and cooks them slow until they are done. turning them occassionally.

people says he makes the best ribs and rib tips, and people always wants him to cook ribs and tips for them. yes, we are black, but we DON'T label our ribs as "black ribs". my hubby also does NOT use bbq sauce. if he does, he only uses Curt's bbq sauce. i personally like Open Pits Brown sugar and Spice bbq sauce.

I must agree. The best barbecue that I have tasted were cooked by black people. Sorry, I do not have a recipe though lol, and I do not think that one exists to make your barbecue taste like a black person made it lol.
