It's nice to think that you can actually choose what the kid will call you, but no matter what you tell them to call you, as a toddler, they will get out whatever they can and continue to call you that forever

I used to think like this before I had any, When the first was born wanted a different name or even special nick name but 12 years on I don't mind at all being called Nan

I searched and selected "Noni" short and sweet. My Husband is Papa.
My Mom had been dubbed "Grannie" (we live in the south)
by my Sister in Laws, and she was never very fond of it.
So I chose mine the minute my Daughter was Pregnant.

My mother's name is Lynda and my son calls her Dinda. My dad used to call his grandad Poppop

In Germany, they use "Omi" or "Oma"
I have some Irish friends who use "Poppa" for Grandad - bit like mine was Grandpop

Teta is grandma and jeddo is grandpa in arabic.
Now u can use for grandma tati, abla, setteh; and for grandpa jadjoud, jeddeh, rayess.
well these might not be pretty, lol, but they r used! :-)

I call my grandma Lula. In tagalog, it's Lola. But I just can't seem to call her that. I call her Lula :)
