TIF stands for Temporary Internet Files, hope this helps you,
also TIF can mean an image file for example
TIF, JPG, PNG, GIF are all image file formats.
each image file formats are better for different uses.
many people use TIF and JPG also called JPEG.
there will be more abbreviations that you will come across, and over time you will learn most of them without knowing,

A Tif is a high-resolution image, used for company logos etc. It makes very large file sizes but is important for artwork.
