What really is the purpose of this question?
Do you want to know how many here are Muslims...or what?
According to the true definition of Islam, many folks who are not Muslims would believe in Islam...yes?
Plese tell me what is your definition of Islam.

One other thing; if you do not need negative answers to a question, then don't ask it. R@S is an open forum where people are free to say what they wish.

I believe Islam exists as a religion.

Having read the Koran, however, I do not believe that Muslims should wage wars against other religions. Allah, may His name be praised, taught that persons of other religions should be persuaded to adopt Islam as the true faith, but nowhere did He say that force should be used.

If only Muslims followed the tenets of the Koran properly, then there would be far fewer problems in the world today, imho. But then again, the same could be said of some other religions !!

So yes, I believe in Islam as a religion, but I do not believe it is being practiced correctly.

I believe the teachings of the Qur'an, but I do not believe in the following of Hadith; my understanding is that the Qur'an is the only book required to practise Islam. (Submission). It's unfortunate, however, that Islam has been so corrupted by man and that many Muslims have moved so far away from the essence of the Qur'an's teachings, ie., to love and help our fellow man and to practise tolerance towards all, including their beliefs. There's even divisions within the faith (Sunni, Shiite, etc) and this was never intended to be.

I believe in islam in the same way that I believe in television.
It exists.
I do not believe in any gods, including yours.
How do you honestly expect to get a reasonably accurate survey from this medium, where the bulk are christians or atheists?
Dumb move? Nods.

I am not a follower of Islam yet I think it is basically the same as Christianity. There might be tons of differences but the bottom line is that both pray to God who could also be called Allah or Jehovah.
