There are quite a huge number of flies around Australia in summer, even in big cities like Sydney. Has the Australia government tried to solve this problem? It's very annoying when you walk along streets with your hand waving at flies all the way. And what on earth is the reason to make cities overflow with flies?

The Australian government has done a lot to combat the fly problem in the bush by the introduction of dung beetles. Millions of flies would breed in cattle dung and the beetles remove the dung before the breeding cycle is complete vastly reducing the number of flies.

Flies in the cities are there because people are there. Garbage and dog poo provide great breeding grounds for flies. The Government organises garbage collection and encourages people to remove dog poo but there is a limit. People themselves have to take responsibility - and they don't.

Don't forget the aeroguard.

where i live the flies are a problem. the little bush flies stick to you and drive you insane and every night just on dark the blow flies are an inch thick on the screen door when i start cooking. i remember years ago camping near coober pedy and we stopped to make lunch beside the road and as i'm buttering the bread i was spreading a dozen flies on the bread along with the butter, needless to say we didnt have sandwiches that day lol !

LOL sorry - but the government has more to worry about, than a little problem on flies.

Where I live there is no 'fly' problem anyhow, it's all the lies in politics, now that is a main problem.

Haven't you ever heard of Personal Insect Repellent?

At the present time the Government is too busy trying to remain in power to worry about flies.

(I just love the SWAT Team answer.)

I HIGHLY doubt that North Korea would start a whole new government if Kim Jong Un dies. Sure, most citizens are probably terrified of him, but an action such as that would still be a sure fire way of starting a war with the US.

Have you never read about Mao's drive to eradicate pests? They're here for a reason, and that reason is not solely to irritate us.
