I am also a JW...however other people say that they are when they truly are not. You can tell by looking at their responses to other people's questions and the references they use, if they use any. Do they use the society's official website: www.watchtower.ORG or www.jw-media.ORG....and of course the Bible....(for questions that apply)...The truth speaks for itself...and if you have any doubt about anybody just don't talk to them...better safe than sorry...you do not want to be mislead...and remember 1 Corin. 15:33:..."bad associations spoil useful habits"...and remember 1 John 4:1: "Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world." (in other words you don't want to mingle at all with apostates)...

It is hard to tell. I have been studying with the witnesses, and I am having many questions about their teachings. I read every ones questions and answers, and I find that there are those who are not witnesses that are rude, but I see just as many rude and judgmental witnesses.
I will continue to watch and see and decide.
I am not sure why you need to have Caution though, if the truth of God is out there, and you have asked him to guide you, you should be able to examine any religion and have him guide you to a proper knowledge.
THA isn't having Love among yurselves easy. Doesn't the bible say that chrisiains should love their enemies? Isn't that a truer barometer?

Hi there. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Granted, you can never know 100% who is on the other side unless you are in the same room with them :-)
But I've noticed a few things;
1. Many seem to think that bashing JWs is more fun than defending them, so few non-JWs would risk the thumbs down.
2. Many of the non-JW's who defend the JWs say it outright that they are not JWs.
3. The JWs are united spiritually, so even though we are at different stages of spiritual maturity and express ourselves in different ways, the overall answer is the same. You'll see a few names that come up again and again that are defending the JWs consistently. Those you can safely (I guess) assume are JWs.
But always remember that this is the internet, it's not called the World Wide WEB for nothing. Be careful.

I am a Jehovah's Witness. You can rest assured that. A lot of times apostates come right out and say it. If you go to my contacts, there is Bay, I think here name is and she has a list somewhere I think. If not, you can email me and I will send you the list of openly apostates or ones who have expressed these views.

One thing I have noticed from the real JW's is that will usually put the www.Watchtower.org at the bottom of their comments, or they will cite what literature they are getting the material from - such as I use the Insight on the Scriptures a lot and tend to use that as a reference. You will see a lot of the same ones on here, and using the same scriptures as the other witnesses, that's how I can tell. I have been a witness since 1973.

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I have only met one brother who is on this site face to face at his congregation and that is chocobear. Some have 360 accounts which are more detailed and give you a fuller picture of who they are. But EXTREME caution is needed on the internet since you can not know who is really a witness unless you have met them face to face, preferably in a spiritual setting such as at a convention or at the Kingdom Hall.

Hello sister, I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. To answer your question, we can't really know for sure who is one of our own.....just trust your instincts and how you feel after reading the answers.
Welcome, and agape love to you.

Hello there!
I am also a JW, have been for a long time. :) All my life is a long time, aye? :)
Anyway.... We must be VERY, VERY careful here!! There are a ton of apostates and one that support these apostates as well as DF ones..... If we openly know they are in these situations, we would NOT want to answer thier questions..... Like username Nina I personally dont know what her status is, but I do know she never speaks in a postive light about Jehovahs people, so I never read her questions and if I see she has answered something I wont read her answers. This is the same for unslienced lamb. I block a lot of ones who talk VERY bad about us and it puts a red circle with a line by thier name and it lets me know to NOT read their question or their answers, so I skip it. We are here trying to answer peoples questions who REALLY want to know.... Never would we want to get caught up in "words" with apostates or their "supporters" (or DF ones) knowingly when this might damage our relationship with Jehovah. As far as trusting ones who "proclaim" to be JWs... You can usually watch their posts for awhile and see if what they are saying is "true" or not. Even at that, they may still be DF and are working their way back. EXTREME CAUTION is needed!!!! I have thought many times about just not posting here because it is so dangerous. I do know the society has NEVER encouraged us to get online and preach. We do use letter writing, and our main source of witnessing is door to door. We do go to where the people are, but as I mentioned, if this was a great source of witnessing, online preaching, Im sure we would be encouraged to do it. Instead we are warned of all the dangers of the internet and apostes. I just try to find questions that I hope are "honest" and I enjoy doing the research, because lets face it, we don't get that much of a chance in the ministry to talk about some of the subjects we find here, some of the questions that get ask. It helps keep me on my feet. Anyway, thats my 2 cents. :)))

Update~~~
Barth...
Hello... I am very glad you are studing with JWs... I hope that you continue to do so. The one you are studying with, you should ask why caution is needed. Let me ask you a question. Have you ever believed something that you knew was true, (in your case what you have learned from the Bible) and heard something contrary to that (in this case it could be lies from apostates) and due to just to your own thoughts started "wondering" started "doubting"? This is for our own protection. There are different ones out there that have turned their back on Jehovah, and they spread lies. (Bad lies) Now say, as you have been studing with JWs, you have learned some of the basic truths... And you were to read some "lies" by apostes (ones that have turned their back on Jehovah, apostates are ones that spread lies and talk bad about Jehovah and his people, they are not the ones who are just Disfellowshipped, there is a difference, though we do stay away from Disfellowshipped ones, Disfellowshipped ones don't talk bad about Jehovah) you may start doubting what you have found to be true from the bible. Once you read something, those words are in your mind, you can't make them leave. Even though you think that you may never ever change your mind once you "know the truth" it is not something we want to take a chance with. It could mean our everlasting life if were to sway in our thinking. I hope this makes sense and I have not confused you further. :))) Pls just continue in your studies and you will do GREAT!
Take care!

I am one as well.
But the thing is, its very difficult to know who is and who is not since the Internet disguises everyone's identity.
