Four hours apart on one day is really interested, not desparate.
What did you do to interest him in such a way?
If he keep calling every 4 hours then maybe he is stalking. or he better have good tickets to a concert that night and can't live without taking you.

maybe he just likes to talk to you because he likes you. i did that once myself it may have made it look like i was desperate but i wasn't
