You don't say US Marines or Royal Marines?

The US Marines are 18 (17 with parental consent) up to 35 years old (42 years old with a waiver)

The Royal Marines are 16 up to 27, though you can't see combat until your 18

27 maximum age for marines first enlistement.

Congress gave all of the services permission to raise the maximum age for recruits from 35 to 42 in the fiscal 2006 defense budget authorization.

Only the Army, which has been struggling with recruiting in the face of ongoing deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan, decided to take advantage of the extension, with the age increase applying to the active Army, the Army Reserve and National Guard.

There might be waivers applicable here but I havent herd anything of the marines expanding its age limit.

Which country? I come across too many questions like these where the country isn't stated at all and it p*sses me off.. I think the Royal Marines is the minimum age of 18 years.

You'll forever be a Marine. No matter how old you get. There's no age limit. Once a Marine always a Marine.

At 17 you can sign with consent from both of your parents and you would be in the delayed entry program until you are 18 or finish school. You have until 27 to join and after that you would need to have a waiver.

At 17 your parents have to sign the waiver ... 18 you make your decision ... I think 35 is the cap for first enlistment and there is the health exam and all that good stuff not too sure on that one though

You go in as a kid and you leave a man. You will become a Marine for life. Semper.

you can join at 17 from civvy street;or at 16 from ACF,or similar. And to those posters who answered this question, saying the military are mindless obedience slaves-next time someone tries to sail across the Channel,or drop bombs on London,or invade British territory abroad, why dont you b***** off and go and join them instead???

It is disgusting that you can join at 17. But I guess they want impressionable people who won't challenge orders or think for themselves. After all, the military is all about mindless obedience to authority.
