You would really need a book to answer this one so I'll keep it brief. Oldest question of the human race and thousands of answers in many mainstream religions and philosophies. As it is one of our major interests, it has necessarily involved a lot of thought. Valhalla, Hades, Heaven, Elesian Fields, Spirit World, all trust there is some form of life after the death experience. Although there are a lot of quite convincing anecdotes and even some potent, accepted dogmatic assertions, there is no evidence that humans survive clinical brain death any more than the animal creation. Having said that, there is a possibility that some form of energy, rythm or vibration might remain on a particle level thus giving us the hope that 'something' survives.
From a scientific standpoint, ask yourself what evidence there is that the living of the dinosaur era departed to a saurian heaven. We have been here on earth for a nano-second of geological time and will have departed as a race millions of years before the sun burns out. We would have to be a little more developed to transcend our environment.

Hello Alucard,
As you know some people believe there is life after life, others do not. I prefer to believe that there is.
If so, whether it is as portrayed in the scriptures or if it takes another form, we will only know when we cross that bridge.
If there is nothing after we have left this life, I personally feel why is it worth being born at all. 70 years or so is not very long on this Earth when you consider the length of time this world has existed.
Added to this, look at the miracle of life itself. Our hearts for example beat well over a billion times during our life and every part of our body and that of all other living things are nothing more than the greatest miracle.
It would be a shame if that were not allowed to comtinue after our death.

YES THERE IS LIFE AFTER DEATH
JOHN 3:36
and anyone who believes in Gods Son (JESUS)
has ETERNAL LIFE and one who doesn't obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God's angry judgment,
LUKE 16:19-31 gives you a picture of hell and heaven
you see Lazarus and a rich man in the after life and what happens to us with the choice we make here on earth,,
The choice is all yours: what choice you make will effect your your life after death,, Jesus says i give you a choice of life and death choice life,,he even gives you the wise answer to help you..

There really is no death, just a moving of your soul from one point in time and space to another. People say they don't believe in reincarnation, but most faiths do: What is Heaven, if not another incarnation of my soul? So yeah, there is life after death, in one form or another. Of course, I do not have proof, and don't really want to right now - I like this incarnation just fine for the moment.

A soul is energy, and if you remember 9th grade Physics at all, you'll know the Laws of Conservation state that neither energy nor matter can be made or destroyed, only changed in form.
Since a soul is energy, your energy will be reused again and again when needed.
Just hope that if another body happens to need it, that energy can maintain memories. :D

Is there Life after Death? No.
Is there Death after Life? Yes.
Any other claim is, at the very least, spurious and, realistically, incorrect.

"Life After death is as improbable as sex after marriage"
-Madeline Kahn as Mrs. White.
Strangely the person to she is refering as not being alive after his death, is in fact alive.
